Beech Class

Year 2 and Year 3

Miss Cridland teaches Beech Class. Mrs Spurr teaches on a Thursday.

The children in Year 2 are in Key Stage 1 and the children in Year 3 are in Key Stage 2. Both year groups follow the National Curriculum. 

Year 1 phonics screening check

In Year 1, the children will all take part in the phonics screening check to assess the progress they have made with their phonics knowledge. The check will take place in June when your child will read 40 words out loud to a teacher. You’ll find out how your child did, and their teacher will use this information to assess whether he or she needs extra help with reading. If children do not pass the phonics check in Year 1, they will re-take it when they are in Year 2.
